Join The Columbus Jazz Society and the Music and Entertainment Council for MA FEST, an exciting outdoor celebration honoring the legendary Ma Rainey, the “Mother of the Blues,” on Sunday, May 3, from 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM outside the Historic Liberty Theatre & Cultural Arts Center in Columbus, GA.

This front-porch themed block party will transform the Liberty Theatre District into a vibrant community gathering filled with live jazz and blues performances, BBQ food vendors, local artisans, creative installations, and cultural storytelling. Inspired by the spirit of Southern front porches and the energy of historic Black business districts, MA FEST blends music, culture, and community in one unforgettable experience.

Guests can enjoy a lively outdoor festival atmosphere featuring live entertainment, historical tributes, a curated marketplace of local entrepreneurs, and community-centered programming that celebrates the rich cultural legacy of the Liberty Theatre.

MA FEST is more than a festival — it’s a celebration of heritage, creativity, and community pride as we honor the past while helping ignite a bold new chapter for arts and culture in Columbus.
